NCLS provides free support and advice to people who are at risk of losing their homes because they have fallen into arrears with their mortgage or rent payments.
If the answer is yes, you can make a confidential appointment with an independent adviser at NCLS. As well as advising you in the office, we can represent or arrange representation for you at County Court hearings if required.
Our advisers regularly attend court to assist people whose housing cases are being heard, even if they have not contacted us before. We can assist by explaining court procedures and will also advise on negotiations with the landlord or bank or building society concerned.
The service is provided by trained volunteers and we work in partnership with Shelter. Over the years we have been successful in keeping hundreds of clients in their homes.
Even if you have reached an agreement with your landlord or mortgage company about your arrears, it is advisable to have the details of your agreement looked at by our advisers before you go to court.
Norfolk Community Law Service (NCLS) offers this service to tenants of other local landlords including Norwich City Council. The scheme prevents evictions and homelessness. We are also piloting a similar scheme for people in difficulty with their mortgage.
Call us or e-mail us now to speak to an independent adviser.
