Housing Repossession Advice

For many years NCLS ran a very successful court desk scheme in partnership with Shelter, which ensured that anyone being taken to court by their landlord or lender for arrears could receive free, independent advice and representation.

However, last year the Legal Services Commission which funds the scheme, awarded it to Allan Rutherford solicitors.  NCLS is therefore currently unable to offer this service.

NCLS remains committed to ensuring access to justice in all areas of law so if you have a housing issue and you are not sure where to turn you can contact us and we will always do our best to help.

Housing Mediation

NCLS is continuing to run its innovative Rent Mediation Scheme, which benefits tenants who have fallen into arrears of rent,
by helping them to avoid getting deeper into debt due to court costs, and the distress and stigma of a court appearance.

Norfolk Community Law Service (NCLS) offers this service to tenants of other local landlords including Norwich City Council. The scheme prevents evictions and homelessness.
