New Services
One of our principal aims is to identify unmet legal advice needs, and to
seek ways to meet those needs. As a result of our research and our links
with other agencies we are currently working on developing two new services:
Domestic Violence Support
We are working with the domestic violence charity
Leeway and
Norwich City Council
to develop an holistic and accessible service for clients who may not be able to access the protection and legal services they need.
The service involves advice, making applications to court, representation at court
and access to advisers who can advise on related housing issues and provide practical support on safety planning,
refuge and reporting to the police.
Young People
We are currently developing an advocacy service in Norfolk for young people
with mental health issues. Our research has shown
that a lack of consistent, independent and local advocacy means that young people with complex problems
can find themselves in situations where decisions are being made without their having a clear voice to
speak on their behalf.
