Who we are
We target our services at individuals and groups, particularly those who cannot afford access to justice and representation.
This includes those with long term physical or mental ill-health, physical or sensory disabilities or learning difficulties, offenders, ex-offenders, migrants and others who are disadvantaged.
The advice we offer is non-discriminatory and confidential.
Who we can help
People/families on low incomes
Our services are available for those who are unable to pay for legal advice.
Those excluded from legal aid
Legal aid has been stripped from many areas of social welfare law, and in those where it remains services in Norfolk are scant and hard to access.
Migrants
Our immigration team offer a range of services for those looking for the right to remain for themselves or their family.
People with poor mental health
A large proportion of our clients suffer from mental ill-health, and our advisers are empathetic and non-judgemental.
Those at risk of homelessness
Whether a domestic abuse victim or someone with no recourse to public funds, our work can prevent people from becoming homeless.
Ex-offenders
Services including debt and welfare benefit appeals are offered to those on probation.

About Norfolk Community Advice Network (NCAN)
We use the Norfolk Community Advice Network (NCAN) referral system. To check if your team or organisation is already registered on the NCAN referral system, please view the members list.
NCAN (an umbrella organisation that NCLS is the lead agency for) provides a referral system that connects many advice and community support providers countywide, to facilitate access to better support for professionals and their service users.
NCAN’s aim is to ensure that Norfolk residents can access good-quality social welfare information, advice, assistance and representation when and where they need them most.
