Norfolk Community Law Service (NCLS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kate Price as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This follows the news that the current CEO David Powles is stepping down to become the CEO of homelessness charity St Martins.

NCLS is Norfolk’s leading social justice charity, helping thousands of people each year with issues including debt, welfare benefits, family law, domestic abuse, immigration and housing.

Kate Price joins NCLS with over two decades of leadership experience across local government, health integration, community services and the voluntary sector. In her current role, she is Assistant Director for Communities at Ipswich Borough Council, having previously worked for both Great Yarmouth Borough and Norwich City Councils and at national charities.

Chair of Trustees for NCLS, Laurence Harris, said: “The entire team welcomes Kate as the new CEO, bringing important new skills and expertise into the organisation. We were fortunate to have a very strong field of applicants for the role, but Kate was the standout candidate, from both her interview with trustees and her meeting with staff”.

Speaking about her appointment, Kate said: “I’m honoured to join the organisation and look forward to working with staff, volunteers and partners to strengthen and grow our impact for local communities. NCLS plays a vital role in ensuring people across Norfolk can access the support, advocacy and justice they deserve. I know that David Powles is a tremendous CEO and he leaves the organisation in great shape and with quite a legacy that I am proud to continue in future”.
