What we stand for
NCLS stands for justice and equality. Everyone should have a right to access legal services, unfortunately far too many people are being denied that right.
Our vision
We help to satisfy unmet legal need through free, impartial and confidential advice, therefore contributing to a more just and fair society.
Our mission
To empower the people of Norfolk to assert their legal rights, using advice, education and representation.
Our values
People centred
We understand that everyone is an individual and will treat clients, staff and volunteers with respect and dignity.
Equal
We believe that everyone has equal value and huge potential no matter their past background or current circumstances. We believe everyone has a right to access to justice.
Independent
We exist to help secure justice for our clients and will always put their best interests at the heart of everything we do.
Excellence
Our services will be delivered to the highest standards. We will be the best that we can be in the pursuit of justice.
Collaborative
We are committed to the Norfolk Community Advice Network (NCAN). We will work with partners who share our vision for a just and fair society.
Responsive
We are innovative and agile. We respond to the changing local and national agenda to ensure we are relevant today and in the future.
I’m incredibly proud to be CEO of NCLS and proud of all that our organisation achieves every year, with more than 4,500 people across Norfolk benefitting from our expert legal advice and guidance.

Our strategic priorities
Our current strategy outlines the vision, plan and priorities for NCLS until 2027.
To provide high quality, specialist advice to the people of Norfolk
If more people are able to access justice, more people will have a better chance of staying financially stable or moving out of poverty.
To make sure our services are inclusive and accessible
We will endeavour to identify and remove barriers to receiving our advice to ensure our services are as inclusive and accessible as possible.
To listen and change our services to meet the needs of our clients
We will continue to identify gaps in legal provision and where possible provide services to meet those changing needs.
To be a fair and just voice for the people of Norfolk
We will campaign on behalf of our clients to challenge prejudices and highlight evidence of injustice and inequality in access to justice.
To be an inclusive, diverse and effective work place
We will create a positive, inclusive, diverse and highly effective work environment so our team has the best chance of offering meaningful advice to as many people as possible.
