Community Volunteers

We rely on the generous support of volunteers. Our volunteers work in a range of areas such as research, administration and advice. The majority of our roles are based in Norwich, however we also have limited opportunities working remotely from home.

Volunteering is a great chance to build your skills and find new challenges while making a difference to your community. If you think you can spare a few hours a week to volunteer, we would love to hear from you.

The amount of responsibility you wish to take on will be up to you, however we do ask that are able to commit to volunteering with us for a minimum of 12 months. NCLS will provide ongoing training, shadowing opportunities and support from our staff and team. We will also pay for your travel and other expenses where appropriate.

We look for good oral communication and people skills in our volunteers. Some administrative experience would be helpful but is not essential.  We also need volunteers to help with our fundraising events organised by the Supporters of NCLS.

If you are interested in volunteering with us please fill in this form and our equality monitoring form and return it to us with a copy of your CV and any other information you think would be useful. Once we have received your application we will call you for a quick chat to discuss possible opportunities, we may then invite you in for an informal interview. If you would like more information before applying please contact us.

Please note – NCLS could not operate without its volunteers and we are extremely grateful to those who express an interest in our work. However, we do receive a high number of enquiries so please bear with us if it takes a while to respond.
